The Rumors are True
May 22, 2013

There is a rumor going around, and I for one know that it is true. I know that it is true, not simply because I heard it from a “reliable source”, but because I experienced it yesterday. Let me explain. Like millions of Americans, I watched the news from Oklahoma about the monster tornado that destroyed billions of dollars of property and the priceless lose of life. Compounding the sorrow of watching so many suffer at a distance, I attended the funeral of a precious lady who was a mother of two, grandmother of four and a great grandmother of eight. The pain and lose was ... read more
What You do and the Butterfly Effect
April 30, 2013

In a number of his books, Andy Andrews mentions the butterfly effect, a theory put forward in a doctoral thesis by Edward Lorenz, a mathematician and meteorologist. Simply stated the butterfly effect declares that a butterfly can flap its wings on one side of the world and set in motion molecules of air that in turn set in motion other molecules of air and eventually create a hurricane on the other side of the world. Ridiculed for more than a generation, the butterfly effect was eventually proved by scientists and given the status of law: “The law of sensitive dependence on ini ... read more
Homosexuals and WWJD

The Church's Greatest Threat.
September 26, 2012

If I were to ask you what you believed was the greatest threat to the Church in the United States, what would you say? Would it be terrorism or violent crime? Would it be a shift in public policy relating to the freedom of religion? Or would it be a national economic collapse unlike any we have known? While each of these threats is daunting, they are not the one threat that concerns me the most. This insidious threat does not come from crazed killers, unconstitutional law or even from a impotent dollar. Sadly, it comes from within our own walls. Let Jesus define them in a story f ... read more
Starbucks Closes 7100 Stores!
September 05, 2012

One Tuesday afternoon in February 2008, Starbucks closed all of it’s U.S. stores. It was a big idea and a bold move by CEO Howard Schultz as Starbucks would lose several million dollars in sales and labor costs. That would be unavoidable. Added to the day’s lose, it’s stock could sink even lower. But why take such a risk? Sometime earlier, Schultz walked into one of the Starbuck communities to get a groundzero perspective on why his company was losing market share and money. As he browsed the store, he picked up a plush animal toy and asked the manager about it. ... read more
